We are proud to actively and regularly engage in low and pro-bono projects. Here are a few examples of our most recent work:
CASA House, Centre Against Sexual Assault
—
CASA House provides crisis response to victims and/or survivors of sexual assault. Studio Tate provided interior architecture services to improve the waiting room and team meeting room/consult room at the Melbourne CBD location. Given the sensitivities associated with the services provided at CASA House, it was critical that our design proposal ensured a safe and comforting environment for clients. We worked closely with key stakeholders at CASA to select a finishes palette, feature lighting and loose furniture that would support the critical work undertaken by the team. We have worked in collaboration with Fontic Project Management on this project.
The Royal Women’s Hospital Foundation
—
The Royal Women’s Hospital Foundation raises funds to support the vital work of the Women’s, Australia’s first and largest specialist hospital for women and newborns. Studio Tate were engaged to provide a full scope of works for the new office, located within the hospital, for The Foundation staff. This scope included floor planning, concept design with 3D visualisations, construction documentation and furniture specification. Studio Tate also liaised with the Hospital’s marketing team to ensure the new office represented the brand messaging. We have worked in collaboration with Fontic Project Management on this project.
Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU)
—
The Royal Women’s Hospital is Australia’s first and largest specialist hospital dedicated to improving the health of all women and newborns. Studio Tate will provide interior design services to assist with the refresh of the NICU waiting room, overnight-stay rooms, counselling rooms and the circulation corridors. We will work in collaboration with Fontic Project Management on this project.
Jean Hailes, For Women’s Health
—
ean Hailes for Women’s Health is a national not-for-profit organisation dedicated to improving women’s health across Australia through every life stage. Studio Tate provided interior architecture services to improve the spatial organisation, finishes palette and key loose furniture items for the Clayton medical suites. We worked closely with key team members to understand how the front of house spaces needed to function and completed a floor planning exercise to reconfigure the reception, boardroom and waiting area. We also worked closely with the doctors to improve the layout of each medical suite maximising privacy for patients. Following approval of the revised floor plan layout we developed a fresh finishes palette and selected relevant furniture items that reflect the Jean Hailes brand.
“We enjoyed an excellent working relationship with Studio Tate. They made us feel assured, informed and comfortable from design conception, through to completion. Their strength truly lies in their ability to convert a vision and brief into an end product, with a look and feel that is absolutely in line with our culture and values. Communication is second nature to Alex and her team. They were definitive in their advice and they understood our constraints as a non-for-profit organisation, even going above and beyond to source furniture at a reasonable price. Studio Tate developed an intelligent design concept that cleverly transformed a tired building into a warm, welcoming and user-friendly environment. I would recommend Studio Tate for their ability to convert a brief into a practical outcome, for their communication skills, and for their ability to communicate effectively to a wide variety of stakeholders.”
